The calibration phase is a procedure that ensures that the review results are consistent, coherent and just through the manager's review after peer feedback on the person being assessed has been sent.
⚠️ This feature is only available in some of our plans.
Depending of the configuration that we have set up for our review, there will be two different scenarios for the calibration phase to start:
-
The review is set on manual mode: When the participation stage is finished, administrators decide when they would like to start the calibration stage by clicking on the Start calibration process button.
Next, administrators sent a custom notification to managers explaining the process.
-
The review is set on automatic mode: Once participants have received all their feedback required or the time set for the participation phase has finished and the participant meets the minimum criteria (see minimum criteria), a notification is sent to the manager informing that it is time to calibrate the results of the Direct report.
💡Make sure that all managers have aligned criteria for performing their direct reports calibration. It is advisable to always involve your company People department to set up this common criteria.
What happens when the calibration process starts?
Once the calibration phase has started, the below process will begin:
-
Managers receive a notification and from this, they access the campaign in which they have to perform the calibrations.
-
The manager reviews the different feedback that has been received by each person and following the scales set by the company and the comments of other colleagues writes a summary for each one of the campaign questions. These are the results that will be sent to the participant.
💡Managers will be able to identify the people to be calibrated by the orange dot next to their name.
-
Once the manager calibrates all the answers of a review, the orange dot changes to green indicating the manager that has completed the calibration process for that person.
Calibration occurs in real time, which means that administrators will be able to see at all times whether or not the manager has completed the calibration of each of their direct reports.
-
If the review has been configured in manual mode, the participants won’t move to the results delivery phase until the administrators move them manually to that phase.
If the review has been configured in automatic mode, once a manager calibrates all the answers of their Direct report, the participant will automatically move to the results delivery phase.
Administrators will have visibility over the results calibration status and be able to follow its progress through the progress bar. You will also be able to advise managers if any doubt arises during the process.
⚠️ The calibrated results will be saved, but will not yet be sent to the participants. This will happen in the last phase of a review: the delivery of results.
