Measuring Onboarding satisfaction is essential because it directly impacts how new employees experience and adapt to your organization from day one. It helps ensure that new hires have a positive start, feel supported, and integrate smoothly into the organization. It identifies areas for improvement, reduces time to productivity, and helps prevent early turnover. Tracking this feedback also strengthens manager support, improves retention, and enables continuous refinement of the onboarding process—laying the foundation for long-term employee engagement and success.
How to set up an Onboarding custom poll
To create an Onboarding custom poll, follow the steps described below:
- Go to your Team section and click on Groups.
- Next, click on the Add new group button to start creating your groups. Write the Group name and select the category Others.
- Depending on your subscription you can create one of the following group types:
- Static group: Click on the Static group type. The group will be created without any person associated with it. Any time a new Team member is added to the group the survey will be automatically send to them.
- Dynamic group: Click on the Dynamic group type. A new window will appear for you to select the filter conditions. Select the option of First working day to select the range of time that the employee has to have been within the company to send the survey (e.g. First working day is between 30 and 35 days). The employees that have the selected criteria will be automatically added into the group.
💡Although the group has been created, no user has been notified.
- Now that the group has been created, go to your Engagement section and select Custom Poll.
- Click on the Create custom poll button. Next, add a Title and a Description to your survey.
💡By clicking on the icon you can also add translations if required.
- In the Audience section, click on the Only specific groups option and select the group that you have created on Step 3. Once ready click on Save and Continue.
- Now it is time to add the questions that you would like to ask to your audience. Firstly select the type of question from the options provided:
- Text: These questions allow the participant to submit an open text answer.
- Numeric 0-10: This option allows you to quantitatively measure different aspects by letting you create a question with a scale that goes from 0 to 10 and select what opposite sides of the scale mean (ie. 0 is bad and 10 is good).
- Star rating: This scale allows you to measure a statement using a visual star scale. A weight is assigned to each star on the scale and then an average is calculated.
- Likert scale: It will allow you to measure a statement on a 5 points scale, from strongly disagree to strongly agree.
- Custom Choice: This scale helps to measure a statement using a scale between 2 and 10 options, being each one of them fully customizable.
- Add your question under What would you like to ask? Add as many questions as needed by clicking on the Add another question button. When finished, click on the Continue button.
- Select the Instant delivery option and choose whether you want the answers to be anonymous or identified.
- Finally, enable the Send survey when people join the selected group button. This will ensure that every time you add a new person to the group you have created joined to this survey, they will automatically receive the question. Click on the Save and Continue button .
- Finally, a summary of your custom poll will appear, revise it and click on the Send now button.
You have now created your Onboarding custom poll. You can follow up this process to create as many surveys as your Onboarding touchpoints requires.
