Career path positions play a key role in shaping the content of Performance Reviews in Nailted. Each position is directly linked to a specific set of competencies and associated questions. When a Performance Review is launched, the system uses the person's assigned position to determine which questions should be presented to them.
This means that the position not only defines the expectations for an employee's role, but also guides the performance evaluation process by surfacing relevant competencies and tailored questions. As a result, reviews become more personalized, structured, and aligned with each individual's career development path.
By leveraging career path positions in this way, organizations ensure that feedback is meaningful, targeted, and supportive of long-term growth for both employees and teams.
How to assign a career path position
To assign a career path position to an employee there are two different ways to do it.
1 Individual position assignment
This method is useful to perform a few position changes in the organization. To add a new position follow the steps described below:
- Go to your Team Section and access the personal profile of the person.
- Click on the Information tab and scroll down to the Position field.
- Click on the drop down selector that appears under the Position field and select the position of the employee.
💡Only the positions that have been created in your Career section will be displayed.
Click on the Save button to save your changes.
2 Upload career positions in bulk
This method is used in large organizations to upload all the career path positions at once. To add new positions, follow the following steps:
- Go to your Team Section and click on People. Next, click on the three dots icon that appears and select Export people.
- An email containing an excel file with all your employees will arrive in your inbox. Open it and look for the Position field.
- Fill in the position field with the information following this structure Career path name - Position name.
- Once the excel file has been filled in, download the file as a CSV.
- Go back to Nailted and click on the Add tab that appears in your People section.
- Click on the Import from file button and select the CSV file.
- Finally, click on the Update existing members button to upload the new information.
Now all career paths are in the system and you are ready to start setting up your review campaign.
