The visualization of organizational goals by all the members of the organization ensures a clear and transparent communication between managers and individuals but also from the organization itself.
By being able to follow the progression of company goals individuals will be more motivated as they will be accountable for their goals besides having the opportunity to be innovative. On the other hand, managers will have visibility over all the individuals performance allowing them to make informed decisions, provide support or carry on with an effective resource allocation to support their team to accomplish their assigned goals. The contributions of individuals and managers will play an important part to the organization's long-term success.
1. Types of goals visibility
In Nailted, there are two different types of visibility for the established goals:
- Goals visible by the entire organization
- Goals visible only by the members that are involved in achieving that goal
💡Managers will have visibility towards their direct reports goals in both types of visibility.
How to create a goal visible for the entire organization?
Creating visible goals for the entire organization can provide numerous benefits, including improved clarity, motivation, alignment, accountability, and adaptability among the different teams.
To create a goal visible for the entire organization, follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to your Goals section in your my.Nailted profile and click on the Add new goal button.
- Next, describe What do you want to accomplish with this goal and add all the details of the goal under the Details of the goal to achieve section.

Select the goal type that you are creating from the options available:
- Company goal: These goals are focused on improving specific areas that affect your organization’s business.
- Growth Area: These goals are focused on areas of personal or professional growth and development.
- Add the people to whom you wish to assign this goal by choosing them from the dropdown that will appear in the Who do you want to assign this goal to? section. All the assignees will be notified once the goal has been created.💡You can choose more than one person to assign the same goal to when creating it.
- A goal can be aligned to a parent goal that will gather all the different goals or key results that need to be completed to consider that the parent goal is also completed. A goal can be aligned with its parent goal by selecting it from the dropdown menu that appears under the Align to parent objective section.
⚠️For creating a goal linked with a parent goal, the parent goal needs to be created first.
💡 It is only possible to align goals that have been assigned to hte user or created by them.
- To provide visibility over the goal to the entire organization, enable the The entire company can see the objective.
💡If the parent objective is visible to the entire organization, the objectives that are aligned under it will be also visibles to the entire organization.
⚠️ The visibility of a goal can't be changed once it has been created.
- Next, set the Start and End date of the goal by selecting the dates in the When does this objective starts and ends section.

Set the Key results that the goal will contain by clicking on the Add Key Result button and choose between the different types of Key results available:
- Percentage: Percentage key results are useful when the objective can be quantitatively measured and when tracking incremental progress is important.
- Yes/No: They are used when the outcome can be objectively determined as either achieved or not achieved.
- Numeric: These key results are used when there is a need to track quantities, counts or specific milestones as they provide a clear and specific metric to aim for.
You can also add a weight to the different key results that form a goal by clicking on the Add weight personalized button.
💡Remember that key results need to be specific, measurable, time-bound and achievable milestones that help to track the process toward achieving the goal.
- Finally, click on the Create goal button to save your changes and notify all the assignees.
From this moment the parent goal and also all the goals aligned to it will be visible by your entire company. Besides, each person will be able to visualize goals by organization goals but also by people that goals have been assigned to.
How to create a goal visible only for the people involved?
Some goals may be kept primarily visible to involved stakeholders due to several reasons such as confidentiality or privacy concerns as they will impact over topics such as compensation or personal development. However, it is very important for organizations to strike a balance between transparency and confidentiality.
To create a goal visible only for the people involved, follow the steps outlined below:
- Go to your Goals section in your my.Nailted profile and click on the Add new goal button.
- Next, describe What do you want to accomplish with this goal and add all the details of the goal under the Details of the goal to achieve section.

Select the goal type that you are creating from the options available:

From this point, only the people involved with the parent goal will be able to have visibility over the progression of their goal but also their colleagues goals. This visibility will encourage collaboration among the different stakeholders towards the goal completion.
2. What visibility will an administrator have over goals?
Organizational goals that are public by the entire organization, will also be visible by administrators from their administrator profile.
In the case of goals that are not public to the entire organization their visibility will depend on each administrator's visibility permissions over groups. There are two different situations:
- Administrators with full groups visibility permissions: These administrators will be able to see all the goals that are created by the organization without any restrictions.
- Administrators with limited groups visibility permissions: These administrators will only have visibility over the goals that have been assigned to the people within the groups they have access over the information to.
