The visualization of organizational goals by all the members of the organization ensures a clear and transparent communication between managers and individuals but also from the organization itself.
By being able to follow the progression of company goals individuals will be more motivated as they will be accountable for their goals besides having the opportunity to be innovative. On the other hand, managers will have visibility over all the individuals performance allowing them to make informed decisions, provide support or carry on with an effective resource allocation to support their team to accomplish their assigned goals. The contributions of individuals and managers will play an important part to the organization's long-term success.
1. Types of goals visibility
In Nailted, there are two different types of visibility for the established goals:
- People involved: Goals visible only by the members that are involved in achieving that specific goal or to any secondary goal that contributes to its accomplishment.
- Public: Goals visible by the entire organization
💡Managers will have visibility towards their direct reports goals in both types of visibility.
How to configure visibility on a goal cycle?
The visibility of goals within goal cycles are configured through the primary goals linked with the cycle which can only be created by administrators.
Once the goal cycle is created (see here how to create it), it is time to create one or several primary goals following the steps described below:
- Go to your Performance section and click on Goals.
- Next, find the goal cycle where you want to align the first primary goal and click on the three dots icon that appears next to it.
- Select the Create Primary goal button and a new window will open.
- Describe What do you want to accomplish with this goal and add all the details of the goal under the Details of the goal to achieve section.
- Add the name of the person that will be the owner of the goal using the dropdown that appears under Who do you want to be the owner of this goal?
💡We recommend assigning it to someone within the organization who represents the company’s strategic direction, such as the CEO or a business unit leader.
- Decide who do you want to see the goal from the options available:
- People involved: Goals visible only by the members that are involved in achieving that specific goal or to any secondary goal that contributes to its accomplishment.
- Public: Goals visible by the entire organization but only the owner or assignee will be able to modify them.
- Next, set the Start and End date of the goal by selecting the dates in the When does this objective starts and ends section.
- Finally, click on the Create goal button to save your changes.
You can create as many primary goals as required, each one of them can have different visibility settings depending on your needs.
How to configure visibility on an independent goal?
Creating visible goals for the entire organization can provide numerous benefits, including improved clarity, motivation, alignment, accountability, and adaptability among the different teams.

- Yes/No: They are used when the outcome can be objectively determined as either achieved or not achieved.
- Numeric: These key results are used when there is a need to track quantities, counts or specific milestones as they provide a clear and specific metric to aim for.
💡Remember that key results need to be specific, measurable, time-bound and achievable milestones that help to track the process toward achieving the goal.
- Finally, click on the Create goal button to save your changes and notify the assignee.
From this moment the goal will be visible by the people that you have configured.
2. What visibility will an administrator have over goals?
Administrators will have visibility over all the goals that anyone within the organization creates from their administrator profile.
In the case of administrators, their visibility over goals will depend on each administrator's visibility permissions over groups. There are two different situations:
- Administrators with full groups visibility permissions: These administrators will be able to see all the goals that are created by the organization without any restrictions.
- Administrators with limited groups visibility permissions: These administrators will only have visibility over the goals that have been assigned to the people within the groups they have access over the information to.
